Fishing tactics When re stocking Loch Lyoch with rainbows from our own holding tanks the fish are trickle fed in to the loch to give them a chance to fit in and start feeding naturally. This means that the approach to fishing should be a natural one. Patterns that do well are: Various Hoppers Daddy Long legs Sedge patterns Muddlers Bibio Various Buzzers Heather fly Alexandria Soldier Palmer Partridge and orange Blae and Black Ace of spades 6lb minimum leader is needed as there is a large head of Brown trout that will shred anything lighter. 9ft 5 weight rod can cover the water easily. a Floating and intermediate line is also adequate.
When booking your days fishing please do not hesitate to call for up to date catch returns and what fly patterns are fishing well. We are more than happy to advise and supply any information that may make your days fishing more productive.
