The River Clyde.
The river Clyde is within easy reach of our cottage and offers excellent fishing for brown trout and grayling either on the fly or fishing bait. The upper reaches of the river are set in open country side with excellent access, miles of open water with long rumbling streams perfect for dry or wet fly fishing.
The Clyde is famous for its fly patterns which are tied very sparsely to represent the natural insect, also its night or gloaming flies can be very effective, fished through dusk in to darkness.
Salmon and Sea trout fishing is available on the lower reaches of the Clyde which are controlled by Mid Clyde Angling Association and United Clyde Angling Protective Association Ltd.
Permits, tuition and guiding are available.
A 2009 Clyde grayling, the fish was returned to fight another day.
