 Code of Rules & Fishing Etiquette

 

 

Code of Etiquette:

Our aim is to provide good fishing in a relaxed atmosphere, without hassle and to ensure that everyone using the facilities enjoys these to the full.

 

Anglers should conduct themselves in an orderly manner, Bawling, Shouting, Obscene or Foul Language. will not be tolerated.

 

The consumption of Alcohol is not allowed.

(Anyone in the managements opinion is either inebriated or under the influence of drugs will be requested to leave the fishery immediately)

 

All Anglers must fish in a sportsman-like manner, showing due respect for their

Quarry.

 

Fishery Rules

ALL fish must be handled with Care: where possible the fish should not be removed from the water and only handled with wet hands.

 

All anglers to carry Landing Nets under no circumstances should a fish be beached.

 

Fish should be returned with out undue delay

 

Flies above size 14s must be barb-less or de-barbed

 

Maximum Hook Size: size 10 Long shank.

 

Minimum Breaking Strain: 6lbs.

 

No Boobies, Egg Fly or Floating Fry

 

No Strike Indicators

 

No Bait fishing (Dapping with natural flies is allowed)

 

No maggots, Grubs, or Caddis Larva on flies

 

No Flickers, Megga bait, Power bait or similar products allowed

 

Only One rod to be use at anytime and must be hand held (The Management has no objection to two rods being assembled (One with Floating and One with a Wet line)

 

Anglers must keep a safe distance from other anglers (minimum of 15 yards) and must not come in on top of another angler, unless invited to do so.

 

No Dogs allowed

 

No Fires

 

No children allowed unless they are accompanied with an adult.

 

Toilet Facilities are available and must be used.

 

Both Lochs are designated Litter Free Zones

(Smokers are requested not to discard cigarette ends either onto the water or bank)

 

Float Tubes are allowed on condition that they fish the middle of the lochs and only fish onto a bank where there are no bank anglers present.

 

We will welcome being informed of any infringement of the rules.

 

  

 

SAFETY ISSUES

 

Angling by it’s very nature can be a dangerous sport and consequently while the management takes every possible action to minimise any risks to you.

 

Every Angler is responsible for their own safety and to ensure that their actions don’t put at risk other anglers, members of the public, staff or agents of the fishery..

 

Wading restricted to Knee Depth on Lochlyoch

No Wading Loch Cleugh

No fishing from Valve Towers (Lochlyoch/Cleugh)

No fishing from the top of Wave-wall (Lochlyoch)

No wading between Marker Posts at inlet burns (Lochlyoch)

Float Tubers must stay a minimum of 30 feet away from the Valve Towers as any open valve posses a danger. Life jackets are mandatory for all Tubers

Anglers are requested to use recognised routes to and from the loch-side.

The Cliff Face on Cleugh presents a danger due to the unstable rock face.

General Conditions

The management has the Right to undertake

(a)    Inspection of Fishing Tackle

(b)   Inspect Fishing Bags

(c)    Vehicles

(d)   Anyone caught stealing fish will be charged with theft

 

Our Policy is to enforce the rules of the fishery. Anyone infringing these will be required to leave the fishery immediately.
