The holiday cottage and fishing lochs are located at the foot of Tinto hill (Hill of fire).

Reaching a height of 2,320 feet, this hill is a familiar landmark throughout central Scotland and is popular with hill walkers, hang gliders and ramblers.

The cottage looks directly on to the hill giving sometimes spectacular views with the sun set reflecting on the Felsite rock to give a red fire like appearance.

Historic Town of Biggar

Historic Biggar is a pleasant medieval town in the scenic Clyde Valley, a town with a rich and varied history. There is arguably nowhere else in Scotland with as much of interest in the one town. Biggar and it's attractions have won numerous awards, including Best Tourist Town In Scotland, Scotland In Bloom, and individual awards to it's museums.

The Market town of Lanark (Home of William Wallace)

The historic Burgh of Lanark was the location of the first meeting of the Scots Parliament in 978. Today it is one of the most important towns in The Clyde Valley, and has a bustling market. Lanark Market is one of Scotland's largest farming markets.

A few hundred years after the first Scots Parliament took place in Lanark, William 'Braveheart' Wallace resided in the town. There are tributes to Wallace's fight for freedom in Lanark.

New Lanark World Heritage Centre

Discover the fascinating history of New Lanark and Robert Owen in the award-winning Visitor Centre.
As you wander around the village it is easy to imagine how people lived and worked in Owen's time.
Highlights of any visit will include the magical New Millennium Experience ride and an audio-visual theatre show called 'Annie McLeod's Story', where the ghost of a mill-girl appears on stage.
