Tinto Hill (Hill of Fire)Reaching a height of 2,320 feet, this hill is a familiar landmark throughout central Scotland and is popular with hill walkers, hand gliders and ramblers. The cottage looks directly on to the hill giving sometimes spectacular views
with the sun set reflecting on the Felsite rock to give a red fire like
appearance.
A climb to the top of the hill on a clear day will give you excellent views looking down on Central Scotland, to the north Ben Lomond and the Campsie Hills, to the west The Sleeping Warrior on Arran and to the south the Border Hills.
