Tinto Trout fishery is a private syndicated fly fishery consisting of two five acre lochs with a limited membership. 4 rods have been reserved for use by parties using our letting the cottage and requiring fishing. (Providing that these are not being used the rods are available to the angling public.) The fishery is open all year. Advance Phone Bookings required regarding availability of day rods. Fly Fishing Only. Float tube fishers welcome.
Above is a aerial photograph of Loch Lyoch and Cleugh at the foot of Tinto hill. Both lochs have a head of natural Wild Brownies and Lyoch is stocked with rainbows 2lbs upwards. Cleugh. Brown Trout Only The fishery record for Wild Browns is 10lbs with fish in the 3lb to 5lb mark caught each season. (Best Brown 2007 9lbs 8oz.) In the interest of conservation all brown trout are to be returned to the water.

Rainbows are stocked from our own rearing tanks, fully finned with a reputation for a hard fight, the fishery is run for the serious angler who wants to recapture the angling values of past gone days. Other Fishing in the area
Price of Fishing at Tinto
Advert: 30.7.2007 Syndicated Rods 2008 At affordable prices to suit your pocket Total membership 50 full rods Allows fly fishing on a catch & release basis, for Wild Browns, Rainbows and Blues. You pay separately for any fish killed, this helps keep the price of the fishing at an affordable level. You decide what suits your pocket. You are not paying for a bag limit that you might not catch. It will also appeal to the angler who fish only catch & release. Each season a limited number of rods become available. Rods are let on first come basis, if you are unsuccessful this year you can request, to be put on our Waiting List for the first available rod space. Categories of Memberships. Individual Season Rods (not transferable) £280.00 Allows you to fish all day, 7days per week. 365 days weather permitting. Individual Named Day Rods (Monday to Friday) (not transferable) Day Session (7A.M. to 4 P.M.) £150.00 Evening Session (5 P.M. to1 hour after sunset) £ 100.00 (Please Note: Evening Sessions are coterminous with British Summer Time due to daylight hours) Individual Named Day Rods (Saturdays) (Not transferable) Day Session (7A.M. to 4 P.M.) £170.00 Evening Session (5P.M. to 1 hour after sunset) £120.00 (Please Note: Evening Sessions are coterminous with British Summer Time due to daylight hours) Allows you to fish on your named day or evening session each week. (Choice of days still available) Club Rods available to angling clubs (minimum of two rods, maximum of 4 rods Members fish on a rota system) £380.00 Corporate Rods available to business (minimum of two rods, maximum of 4 rods for use by Clients and Staff) £380.00 What do we offer ? Stockie bashers, fishmongers, litter louts. are Not welcome at Tinto. Quality instead of quantity. Fully finned, Hard fighting fish, check out the Gallery for some of our fish. All the Brown Trout were returned to the water Fishing Times: Full Season, Fishing Clubs & Corporate Rods, 8 A.M. to 1 hour after sunset, however during May,June,July and August members must be back in the Car Park for Mid Night, which allows you the opportunity to fish the sedge into darkness. Day Rod Sessions Day 8 A. M. to 4 P.M. Evening Session 5 P.M. to 1 hour after sunset. (same rule as above for months May to August apply) The fishery has a club atmosphere with members who are only to willing to give help and advice to the less experienced angler. If you are thinking of taking fly fishing up for the first time, free casting instruction and advice is available to new members to help get you started. Fish with like minded anglers who have a respect for their quarry and their fishing venue. The fishery is run by an angler for anglers.
